Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard is not among the most outspoken players in the NBA. His low-key demeanor belies his talent, and he often prefers to let his play on the court speak for him.
Nevertheless, he dutifully fulfilled his media obligations at All-Star Weekend on Saturday, and he didn’t break character when asked what rule would he like to see changed or introduced in the NBA.
But before giving his answer, the six-time All-Star probed the questioning reporter for more information.
“What type of questions are these?” Leonard asked. “What do people usually say?”
The reporter replied by saying some players advocate for a four-point line. Leonard disagreed immediately.
“Nah, I’m not saying that,” Leonard said. “Fundamentals are already outta the game.”

It sounds as if Leonard wants the league to focus on shoring up its fundamental skills before it makes any significant rule changes, and his patented delivery was classic.
Leonard is in his fifth season with the Clippers. He recently signed a three-year extension worth $152.4 million in guaranteed money.
