Katya Jones wants to be the first woman on Strictly to dance with another woman.
The BBC show’s ITV Dancing On Ice made history with its first same-sex couple when pop star Ian “H” Watkins, 43, skated with professional partner Matt Evers, 43, earlier this month.
And Strictly Come Dancing has featured two men – Johannes Radebe, 32, and Graziano di Prima, 25 – dancing together in the last series.
But producers have yet to offer the same ground-breaking moment to the ladies.
And professional dancer Katya, 30, wants to change that.
She said: “I would love to dance with a woman on the show.
“I think creatively it would be really interesting and I love coming up with new ideas for stuff. So on that side I think it would be quite interesting.”
The Strictly Come Dancing tour launched this week in Birmingham.
Katya took to the floor with her estranged husband Neil, 37, showing there is no bad blood after their separation six months ago.
On the tour, Katya reunites with her celebrity partner from last year’s series, BBC Breakfast sports presenter Mike Bushell, 54.
