Firework singer Katy Perry has reportedly asked Jennifer Aniston to be godmother to her and Orlando Bloom’s future daughter. Perry, who is believed to be due in the coming weeks, is said to have spent a lot of time with the Friends star over lockdown in Los Angeles and they are “very close.”
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, a source claimed that Perry had already asked Aniston and that both she and Bloom “wept when they asked her.”
They claimed, “Katy and Jen are very close. During lockdown they went for socially-distanced walks, and spent lots of time catching up. [Jen] is pretty chuffed about it as well and cried when they asked her.”
Perry has shared numerous updates about her pregnancy, revealing to Hits Radio Breakfast that she was “waddling like a duck” and that she had an odd pregnancy craving: flavoured ice. The American Idol judge has also shared her eclectic pregnancy style on Instagram, dressing up in gigantic toilet paper roll costumes and on the flip side wearing gorgeous tie-dye maternity dresses.
She and Bloom shared they were having a daughter on Instagram, after she posted a picture of Bloom on Instagram covered in pink cake frosting.
Speaking on Good Morning America, she said she was “looking forward to those very late nights” with her baby. Perry continued, “I'm excited. It's a magical time when an angel pops into the planet, which is what it feels like for me.”
The Daisies singer revealed she and Bloom have yet to pick a name, as she said her daughter would “tell us.”
“We have yet to decide specifically on her name because, I think, we've got options and she'll tell us. I'll look at her and go, 'Oh yea yea, you are her, you are that.' Orlando's really excited for a little girl. They say that little girls are, you know, daddy's little girl, that's how it's gonna be, we'll see!” she continued.
Perry is also set to welcome another major milestone this August, as she is due to release her fifth album Smile on August 15.
