Teenage Dream songstress Katy Perry has made light of her absolutely terrifying prop malfunction, where she almost fell from a mechanical butterfly that was soaring above the audience.
Over the weekend, Katy Kats were left shaken to the core after Perry almost fell from the sky when her mechanical butterfly prop malfunctioned mid-air at a Lifetimes Tour gig in San Francisco.
Taking to Instagram after the mishap, Perry poked fun at the anxiety-inducing incident, writing: “how the LA show started > how the LA show ended”.
In the post, the “California Gurls” singer shared a dump of behind-the-scenes snaps of her gig, including footage of her riding the mesmerising prop before the scary incident.

The final video in her dump showed the singer leaving the Forum Club, looking a bit dishevelled.
In videos of the incident, Perry is seen riding the butterfly while encouraging the audience to sing-along to her hit single, “Roar”, before the butterfly suddenly dropped.
As the mechanical butterfly dropped, it dramatically swung side to side. As the swinging slowed down, Perry raised her hand to the crowd to signal that everything was OK before she hit the chorus of the iconic power ballad.
Eventually, the butterfly began to move again at a slower pace and without its wings flapping. It eventually returned to the middle of the stage.

The incident comes weeks after fellow music legend, Beyoncé, also suffered a mid-air malfunction during her Cowboy Carter Tour in Houston.
While soaring across the stadium sky in a red Cadillac while singing “16 CARRIAGES”, the car began to tilt. However, during this malfunction, Queen Bey stopped the performance and continued once the car was lowered and she was safely on the ground.

Look, as much as I am a fiend for a big show, I think we need to stop putting out pop girl in the sky.
I can’t imagine what could happen to P!nk if this happened to her mid-catapult!!!
