John Legend, Katy Perry and Seth Rogen were among the celebrities who guest starred on Disney Family Singalong, a children’s TV event that saw a host of famous faces cover beloved Disney songs.
The special, which aired on the US network ABC, was filmed from within its guest stars’s homes, in accordance with social distancing measures.
Pineapple Express star Rogen opened the event singing the Disney Family Singalong theme song with Kermit the Frog and the cast of The Muppets.
Titus Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) then led a vocal warm up, before Rogen was joined by The Lion King stars Billy Eichner, Donald Glover and Walter Russell III, who plays Young Simba in The Lion King on Broadway, to perform “Hakuna Matata”.
Rebel Wilson filmed her own version of “Poor Unfortunate Souls”, from The Little Mermaid, while Frozen‘s Idina Menzel covered “A Whole New World” from Aladdin.
Josh Gad, Shakira, Halsey and Christina Aguilera were among the other artists to make an appearance.
Katy Perry fully embraced the spirit of the event, dressing up as Dumbo’s mother (and costuming her dog as Dumbo) for a performance of “Baby Mine”.
John Legend and Jennifer Hudson also teamed up to sing “Beauty and the Beast”.
Viewers voiced their praise for the duo on Twitter, with one commenter describing the song as “perfection”.
