Katy Perry confirms album release date as she drops new single Daisies

Katy Perry has confirmed the release date for her upcoming album — and dropped the first single from the project.

The as-yet-untitled record, which comes three years after her last full-length release Witness, is due to arrive on August 14.

Fans have been given a taste of things to come with the track Daisies, for which Perry has also released a new video, featuring her much talked-about baby bump.

Writing on Twitter, she said: “I wrote this song a couple months ago as a call to remain true to the course you’ve set for yourself, regardless of what others may think.

“Recently, it has taken a new meaning for me, in light of what the whole world is experiencing.”

The video was shot during the coronavirus lockdown by director and filmmaker Liza Voloshin, outdoors and at a safe distance.

Perry will perform Daisies live for the first time on Friday evening as part of a live-streamed performance on Amazon Live. Head here for more information.
