Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom 'engaged': Singer poses with pink ring for Instagram post

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have hinted that they may now be engaged after sharing almost identical Valentine’s Day posts on Instagram.

The “Chained to the Rhythm” singer and the Pirates of the Caribbean actor have been in an on-and-off relationship for the past three years.

The pair began dating shortly after meeting at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards.

After announcing their split in February 2017, they then resumed their relationship in April 2018.

On 14 February, a Facebook account that’s believed to belong to Perry’s mother shared a series of photos of the singer and Bloom, with the caption: “Look who got engaged on Valentine’s Day!!”

In the photos, a large, heart-shaped rose decoration can be seen in the room behind the couple.

Shortly after the pictures were posted on Facebook, Perry and Bloom further fuelled the suspicions that they may be engaged by both sharing the same photo on Instagram.

The photo shows a close-up of the couple’s faces, with an array of heart-shaped balloons in the background and a large ring visible on Perry’s left hand.

Perry’s punny caption – “full bloom” – heavily implies that she and Bloom may have agreed to tie the knot in the near future.

Bloom also opted for a poetic caption in his Instagram post, simply writing: “Lifetimes.”

The celebrity couple have been inundated with messages of congratulations.

“You guys deserve all the love in the universe,” one fan wrote on Instagram.

“Congratulations we are so happy for you,” another added.

Perry and Bloom have both been married before – Perry, to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 until 2012, and Bloom, to model Miranda Kerr from 2010 until 2013.

Perry’s eponymous fashion line recently caused controversy after shoes from the range were compared to blackface imagery.

In a statement released following the uproar, the singer stated that she was “saddened” when the parallel was brought to her attention.

“Our intention was never to inflict any pain. We have immediately removed them,” she said.
