Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have gone to extreme lengths to protest against the American voting system.
In a video released today, the couple appear on screen in their seventies looking bedraggled in a bunker in a post-apocalyptic world where 'democracy is dead'.
Looking unrecognisable to their usual glam selves the pair broadcast the 'transmission from the future', supposed to be set in 2055, calling on Americans to call their senators in support of their voting rights.
The political organisation RepresentUs released the ad with the couple in support of the For The People Act, a voting rights bill that is set to be presented to the American Senate next week.
An elderly Orlando can be seen in the ad rasping: “You are our only hope. The America you know doesn’t exist in our future. Democracy is dead.”
Katy, meanwhile, sporting straggly grey hair and a face full of dirt, cuts in and says: “It started when voter suppression ran wild all over America. The voting rights bills died in the Senate. Polling places closed. We lost our right to vote."
Ratcheting up the drama as members of the future government supposedly find the pair in their apocalyptic bunker, Orlando concludes: "This future doesn't have to be. You have the power to change it. Save democracy while you can.
"Call your senator now," an hysterical Katy screams before running off, as Bloom dramatic parting shot is: "Tell Daisy we love her" - referencing the pair's now-nine-month-old daughter, Daisy Dove.
Katy and Orlando, who became parents last year are currently are not currently in the states, choosing to holiday in Italy, where they've been enjoying a week of sightseeing including a romantic gondola ride in Venice.
The Lord of the Rings star, 44, took to social media on Wednesday to share a series of photos and video footage from his and Katy's time in the City of Bridges.
The first of the snaps was a selfie taken by Orlando of him and Katy standing on a bridge and smiling together.
The following image then shows Orlando leaning in for a kiss with Katy, 36, as they pass beneath one of the city's many bridges.

Orlando captioned the post: "[Pizza slice emoji] dump and a kiss under the bridge for good luck [clover emoji]."
Katy replied to the caption: "Cupid’s bow struck again doe."
The posts certainly went down a treat with Orlando's followers who took to the comments section to share their love for the couple.
One fan penned: "I CANT HANDLE THIS CUTENESS TODAY."
Another follower commented: "Don’t worry for good luck, you already have it."
