Katsu Japanese Curry Shop opening in Glasgow soon as social media teases new city centre restaurant

Times are tough for food and drink businesses - so it’s great to see new openings popping up across Glasgow, even in the black hole that is 2020.

And if they involve katsu curry - well, even better.

The city’s latest new opening looks set to specialise in the Japanese curry dish, making all your breaded-and-covered-in-sauce dreams come true.

Katsu Japanese Curry Shop has been enticing Glaswegians in on social media, promising a new restaurant coming soon to the city centre.

The address listed on Instagram is 53 West Nile Street, right next door to middle eastern favourite Babs.

We don’t have a lot more information to go on - but when it comes to katsu, do you really need it, we ask? Surely this is enough to cause a bit of excitement!

The katsu craze has been around for years now, since many of you found your way to high street chain Wagamama, and has been tried by many venues in Glasgow and beyond - but that combination of fried cutlet (chicken, pork or some brilliantly inventive veggie options) and spicy yet creamy sauce isn’t as easy to master as it looks.

We’re keeping all eyes peeled for more info on Glasgow’s newest katsu spot - in the meantime, there is a website and those who sign up to the mailing list will be the first in the know for opening dates.

You'll find Katsu Glasgow on Facebook and Instagram.

BRB, hungry now …
