Katie Taylor v Amanda Serrano a step closer as Jake Paul has his say on mega-fight

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano's 2022 mega-fight is one step closer after the latter picked up a big win over Miriam Gutierrez this morning.

Fighting on the undercard of Jake Paul's grudge rematch with former UFC star Tyron Woodley, Serrano dominated the Spaniard to practically guarantee the eagerly anmticipated Taylor fight.

And after Paul picked up a devastating KO victory over his rival in the main event, he's had his say on Taylor and Serrano - who he and his Most Valuable Promotions stable manage.

“That’s its own main event,” Paul said after his victory.

The Youtube star turned boxer added that Serrano deserves the money for fighting more than he does as he described working with seven-division champion as 'an amazing accomplishment'.

Serrano dedicated her dominant victory to women's boxing in her post-fight interview as speculation continues to grow that a deal can be struck for a fight next spring.

She said: "MVP baby, I hope I made you guys proud. Jake Paul, Nakisa, and everybody in the crowd who came out to see.

"Everybody who purchased the pay-per-view, thank you and this is for women's boxing, I'm doing it for all of us, baby."
