Katie Taylor super fight against Amanda Serrano finally gets date

Katie Taylor's super fight against Amanda Serrano has finally been given a date by promoted Eddie Hearn.

Taylor and Serrano are undoubtedly the two biggest names in women's boxing and were originally meant to face off in May of 2020.

And now the two are set to fight in April of 2022 according to Taylor's promoter.

And Hearn also said that Taylor could be in action in December while Serrano could also box on the undercard of Jake Paul's next fight.

Speaking on DAZN, Hearn said: “We’re had some good chats with Nakisa (Bidarian) and Most Valued Promotions. We actually have a call with them later this week. They are pushing hard on the numbers (the fight purse) for Amanda They feel she deserves real parity with Katie Taylor.

“Amanda Serrano is now bringing a huge amount with Jake Paul’s (involvement) and he is going to add a huge amount to the promotion.

“So, Katie Taylor looks like she has to box off one more mandatory in December. I expect Serrano to box in January as well probably on the Jake Paul card. I’m really confident that we can make that fight (Taylor v Serrano) for April.”

Taylor is currently the undisputed lightweight champion and boasts a 19-0 professional boxing record.

And Serrano boasts a 41-1-1 record, only losing to Frida Wallberg in 2012 and currently holds the WBC, WBO and IBO featherweight titles.
