Katie Taylor's next opponent Amanda Serrano preparing for 'hell of a fight'

Amanda Serrano is ready for one “hell of a fight” with Katie Taylor – and doesn’t care where it is.

The Puerto Rico-born southpaw will meet Taylor this spring, but the venue and dates have yet to be confirmed.

Eddie Hearn, Taylor’s promoter, is thrashing out the details and said: “I believe the end of March, early April. London or New York will host.”

Brooklyn-based Serrano (38-1-1, 28 KO) stopped Brazil’s Simone Da Silva in Miami last Thursday ahead of the ten-rounder with unbeaten two-weight world champion Taylor (15-0-0, 6 KO).

“Now we can talk about Katie Taylor all we want,” said Serrano.

“That’s the fight that everyone wants. I can’t wait to fight her.

“The fight can be in the UK, it can be in the States. It doesn’t matter to me – it’s a business.

“The outcome is going to be the same.

“It’s going to be a hell of a fight.”

Taylor registered a landslide victory over Serrano’s elder sister Cindy in Boston in 2018, the Bray woman winning 100-90 on all three cards.

Amanda Serrano is not reading anything into that win but knows she’ll have to put the hours in the gym to beat the London 2012 champ.

“Me and my sister are two different people,” she added.

“If I’m going to win (against Taylor) I have to put in the work. The wait is going to be worth it.”
