Katie Taylor's dad Pete gives prediction for Natasha Jonas fight

Pete Taylor believes his daughter Katie won't need to be at her best to beat Natasha Jonas in their world title contest tonight.

Katie, 34, puts her lightweight titles on the line against Jonas in a repeat of their quarter-final at the 2012 London Olympics.

Back then Pete was in his daughter's corner. Now, in the pro ranks, American Ross Enamait is her trainer. But Pete can only see the same result

"I don't think Natasha Jonas has taken to the pros as well as what Katie has," he told Green Blood Boxing.

"I think it's an interesting match, and I think Jonas called for it and made the match by being on Sky and calling out the fight.

"But I think an 80% Katie would beat a 100% Jonas. I don't think there is any distance that Jonas can beat Katie at, she's too slow for her.

"She [Katie] outboxed her in the first round of the Olympics and then she pushed her back in the second. I think she gave her three counts in the quarter-final. And I don't think Jonas has the stamina either that Katie has."

Pete has also questioned whether Liverpudlian Jonas, 36, believes she can beat Taylor whose record stands at 17-0 since turning professional.

"I don't even think Natasha Jonas thinks she will win this fight to tell you the truth.

"She called for the fight, it's a money fight. It's like people calling out Mayweather at the time because they are the money fights."
