Katie Taylor posts heartwarming snap with her gran holding her world title belts

Katie Taylor has posted a heartwarming photo of her grandmother celebrating her massive title win last weekend.

Taylor defeated Delfine Persoon in the early hours of Sunday morning to be crowned the undisputed world lightweight champion at Madison Square Garden, and made her return to Ireland on Tuesday.

After being greeted at Dublin Airport by hundreds of fans upon her homecoming, Taylor went to bring her titles to her grandmother, with whom she shares a very close relationship.

And an Instagram post captioned "All the love and all the belts!" showing the pair gained over 25,000 likes in just over an hour.

Smiling as she took pictures and chatted with fans at Dublin Airport on Tuesday, Taylor said: “To see the support is absolutely phenomenal.

“It was an absolute battle but thankfully I came out victorious.

“I’m just going to put my feet up for the next few weeks and spend time with my nephews and nieces.”

Asked about her next fight, Taylor said a rematch was “definitely inevitable.”

She added: “It was a very, very close fight and that’s what happens when the best fights the best.”
