Katie Taylor on a collision course with Cecilia Braekhus, says manager Eddie Hearn

Undisputed world champions Katie Taylor and Cecilia Braekhus are on collision course to meet in the ring next year, according to Eddie Hearn.

Braekhus - one of the premier names in women's boxing - made the tenth defence of her world welterweight title when she easily overcame Victoria Bustos - a former Taylor opponent - in Monte Carlo last night.

The victory extended her unbeaten professional record to 36 fights and her new promoter Hearn talking up a huge showdown the Columbian born Norwegian based fighter and Taylor.

"Of course, the future is Katie Taylor against Cecilia Braekhus, two undisputed world champions," Hearn, who also manages Taylor, told Sky Sports.

"I think, another fight for both in the spring and then a summer fight [is likely]. It's the biggest fight in boxing. We need to make that fight.

"Cecilia has broken down the doors in professional boxing. She wants to make sure that she can have the biggest fights out there.

"Those two are on a collision course. 2020, we will definitely see that fight."

Meanwhile, Taylor made a young girl's dream come true on The Late Late Toy Show on Friday night.

Boxing fanatic Ella Thompson got the surprise of her life when former Olympic gold medallist Taylor emerged amongst on the set.

Taylor, fresh off beating Christina Linardatou earlier this month to become a two-weight world champion, gave her fan a big hug.

And then pair then had a go on the boxing pads with Taylor praising the budding boxer before gifting the youngster a pair of gloves from her last fight.

It was one of two heartwarming moments from Irish sports stars on the show with Open champion Shane Lowry also making a special guest apperance.

Lowry surprised six-year-old Ella Kenny and gave her a signed flag with a personalised message from his famous victory at Royal Portrush this year.
