Katie Taylor offers advice to young female boxers with mum Bridget

Katie Taylor spent a day training and talking to young female boxers recently.

The undisputed lightweight champion and her mum Bridget spoke to a number of upcoming fighters as part of the Bray boxer's work with fitness brand Gymshark.

And in Taylor's typical classy fashion, the 2012 Olympic champion insisted the privilege was all hers.

Sharing photos on Instagram, she commented: "Got to spend a day at @gymshark earlier this month with some future female champions and game changers. The privilege was all mine."

A number of the fighters in attendance praised Taylor for taking the time to train them.

One said: "Such an incredible day and an absolute pleasure to train with you."

Another commented: "It was such an amazing day. So inspired."

One other added: "Was amazing to meet you! Such a role model!"

Taylor successfully defended her lightweight belts against Jennifer Han earlier this month with a brilliant performance.

The victory took her record to 19-0 and she could be back in the ring again before the end of the year.

Speaking after her win over the American, promoter Eddie Hearn said: "I think she fights again in December and then I think she has to fight Amanda Serrano.

"It's not her fault that that fight hasn't been made. It was a mixture of many things, but that's the past.

"I think we have to [make the fight]. Amanda Serrano fancies that fight. I believe she's done a fantastic job to raise her profile. She brings tremendous value in that fight as well. She can be rewarded for that value.

"I think we can headline that fight at Madison Square Garden - by far and away the biggest fight in women's boxing. We have to do that fight."
