Katie Taylor 'hungry' for revenge against Chantelle Cameron ahead of Dublin rematch

Katie Taylor has insisted being the underdog for her rematch with Chantelle Cameron is not something that is on her mind.

The 37-year-old suffered the first defeat of her professional career in May, as Cameron spoiled Taylor's homecoming in Dublin by winning on points and retaining her undisputed super-lightweight crown.

Taylor gets a shot at revenge on Saturday, back at the 3Arena, and another opportunity to become a two-weight undisputed champion, as she steps up to 140lbs once more to challenge Cameron.

It is Cameron who goes into the rematch as favourite, but Taylor is unperturbed by the betting odds.

"I'm very, very grateful for this opportunity again - I have a second chance here," Taylor said at the press conference on Thursday.

"I just can't wait to fight at this stage. Whether I'm seen as the underdog or the favourite, whoever walks to the ring first or second, all of that stuff is irrelevant.

"I'm just excited and hungry for the rematch, and I can't wait to step in there Saturday and perform the way I know I can."

Cameron was keen to challenge for Taylor's full set of lightweight belts but it is instead her titles on the line for a second time.

While Taylor has regularly stated she was not at her best in the first fight, Cameron is confident she too will be improved on Saturday night, having revealed she was battling a tricep injury going into the bout in May.

"I'm not complacent whatsoever, that's why I've put the work in," Cameron said.

"I've trained harder than ever, I feel like it's the best camp I've had because I knew I was going to be up against Katie seeking revenge. I couldn't take that in my stride and think it's going to be a walk in the park, because I know it definitely isn't."

She added: "I've had great preparation. The fittest I've ever been, the strongest I've ever been, ain't got a torn tricep this time, so I'm good to go."
