Katie Taylor defeats Delfine Persoon via unanimous decision to continue unbeaten record

Katie Taylor has defeated Delfine Persoon to maintain her unbeaten record and continue her domination of professional boxing.

The Bray fighter clashed with the Belgian in a highly anticipated rematch at Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Fight Camp in Brentwood, Essex.

It came ahead of the heavyweight showdown between Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin.

Taylor controversially won the first bout between the pair at Madsion Square Garden last year after the judges scored it in her favour.

From Madison Square Garden to Eddie Hearn's back garden, it was another very close fight as the bout went the distance once again.

The three judges all scored the bout in Taylor's favour: 98-93, 96-94, 96-94.

Speaking afterwards, Taylor said she knew it was going to be a "tough, tough fight" but felt confident she had done enough to win.

Persoon added that this time she accepted the result and stated she couldn't hurt the Irish woman.
