Katie Taylor could face Amanda Serrano in August after July clash cancellation

Katie Taylor's bout with Amanda Serrano could take place in promoter Eddie Hearn's garden in August after the rescheduled July 4 clash between the pair was cancelled.

Taylor was set to put five lightweight titles on the line against one of the world's top pound-for-pound fighters on the Dillian Whyte-Alexander Povetkin card at the Manchester Arena.

Whyte's heavyweight showdown against Povetkin is expected to take place this August with Hearn planning to launch a series of shows from his 15-acre estate in Essex. Taylor could feature against Serrano as the chief supporting bout on that card.

A Matchroom statement read: "Matchroom Boxing have taken the decision to reschedule their events due to take place in Newcastle on Saturday June 27 and Cardiff on Saturday July 11, while the event taking place at Manchester Arena on Saturday July 4 has been cancelled.

"Subject to the developing situation, Lee Selby's IBF lightweight world title final eliminator against George Kambosos Jr at the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff has been rescheduled to Saturday October 3.

"Lewis Ritson's clash with former world champion Miguel Vazquez at the Utilita Arena Newcastle has been rescheduled to Saturday October 17."

Whyte has also been linked with a clash against UFC ace Francis Ngannou.

Matchroom had been due to hold a virtual press conference between the two combatants this week before it was cancelled by Team Ngannou.
