Katie Taylor believes previous encounters with Natasha Jonas will count for nothing ahead of Saturday's bout in Manchester

Katie Taylor believes the past will count for nothing on Saturday night when she defends her Lightweight World Titles against Natasha Jonas in Manchester.

"We're completely different fighters now, we're both completely different in every single way," Taylor told Sky Sports.

Speaking at an open workout Taylor believes the fighters will bring the "best out of each other."

"The times we fought as amateurs it was the edge of your seat type fights and I don't see Saturday night being any different."

The pair clashed on numerous occasions in the amateur ranks most notably at London 2012 when Taylor defeated Jonas on her way to clinching Olympic gold but it is the first time they have met on the professional stage.

"I will be prepared for whatever comes my way on Saturday night."

"We obviously fought each other years ago when we were both at the top of the amateur game but here we are nine years later and we're both at the top of the pro game."

"It's going to be such an exciting fight."
