Katie Price tells GMB doctor to 'have a go' at her over surgery in red list country as she shows off results

Katie Price has defended recently travelling to a red list country to undergo cosmetic surgery.

The former glamour model appeared on Good Morning Britain on Friday to show off the results of the procedures she had in Turkey last month.

Katie explained that she had a lip and eye lift, full-body liposuction and fat injected into her bum.

Speaking to Kate Garraway and Alastair Campbell on GMB, Katie said she decided to get the surgery after putting on weight as a result of breaking both her feet and having to learn to walk again.

But the mum-of-five was quizzed on her decision to go to red-list Turkey for the cosmetic procedures and insisted she safely "followed protocol"

"I'm working, doing my YouTube," she explained. "I had two Covid jabs, did all my PCR tests, you have to follow protocol.

"I knew going to a red country I'd literally be in hospital, then we flew to an amber country and stayed in a villa in the middle of the hills away from everyone, then came home.

"We didn't muck about at all, it's serious - and it's hard work to do a red country, and I wouldn't have done it if I hadn't had two jabs."

Hoste Kate, 54, then turned to conversation to Dr Amir Khan who, while respecting Katie for her honesty about her surgery, he didn't particularly agree with her reasons for not waiting until the pandemic was over.

"It is a risk," Kate said to Dr Amir to which he replied: "It is a risk. I think it's important you're open about it. I think it's great that you're showing people what the reality of cosmetic surgery is.

"There's lots of different reasons people will have cosmetic surgery and it has to be done safely which I am glad you've talked about.

"But travelling to a red country Katie, I'm not quite sure whether I'd say that's a good idea for cosmetic surgery."

Katie went on to explain how she visited placed in London who suggested different procedures before deciding on Turkey.

When quizzed on why she couldn't wait, Katie said: "But I have work in the summer. I have work so for me it's my work. I'm not doing it to be silly.

"Yeah I could have waited until after but I'm fully booked and I want to feel good on camera," she said in defence.

"You look great," Amir said before Katie intrrupted: "Go on, have a go at me."

Amir replied: "With all due respect Katie, and I do love you, I would say we have to prioritise the health and lives of everyone around us like we've all been doing.

"And I'm sure you could do your work without having all this done, perhaps?"

Explaining earlier why she had the surgery, Katie said: "I broke my feet last year, before that I used to go running to keep fit, ride the horses. I can never run again, it has changed my life. I was in a wheelchair for months, I had to learn to walk again.

"Being in a wheelchair, I put on loads of weight. For me, I'm not used to that unless I am pregnant! All I wanted to do [is run], even walking I had to go on the bike, I can't do it.

"Putting on weight, this just isn't me, I hated it. Clothes don't fit, then I took my extensions out to let myself breathe and noticed my face. You start noticing things!"

Katie did say she tried eating healthy and other things to loose weight first but it was also her desire to have a baby with her fiancé Carl Woods that also spurred her on.

She said: "I do want a baby, people usually have surgery after a baby. I do want more children, the weight on my feet does make a difference."
