Katie Price SLAMMED by fans for posing with new dog despite failing to pay court fine

Katie Price has come under fire after sharing a photo of herself posing with a new puppy, shortly after telling a judge that she would be unable to pay a £1,100 fine for driving while disqualified.

In the photo, which was posted on Price’s Instagram account, the former glamour model also showed off new hair extensions, which were a “gift” from a Sussex beauty salon.

“In love with my new Rapunzel hair that was sent to me as a gift to try,” she wrote, adding that she has “had so many compliments already” on her new look.

Price appeared at Crawley Magistrates Court on Thursday, where she pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance.

She had been spotted driving on the A24 near her home in West Sussex on July 25 while a six-month driving ban was still in place.

Her defence Paul Macaulay told the court that Price had mistakenly believed the ban had been imposed after an earlier hearing in January, meaning it would have ended at the start of July, before the incident took place.

She was banned from driving for a further three months and fined £1,100 for the offences, but reportedly told the magistrate that she would need some more time to pay the charge. In response, she was issued with a 14-day collection order, meaning that the fine must be paid within a fortnight.

Price’s followers did not hold back as they criticised the star for “showing off” her new German Shepherd puppy, which is thought to have cost her around £1,000.

“And yet, you couldn’t afford to pay your fine for driving while disqualified?” one scathing comment read. “My oh my, your time in rehab has really helped you get your priorities straight.”

“Sell[ing] your dog could pay for your fine, what a joke,” another suggested.

“Pay your fine," one commenter wrote.

Standard Online has reached out to Price’s representatives for comment.

Price is awaiting a second trial at Bexley Magistrates Court on February 25 for another motoring offence.
