Katie Price shares heartache at being unable to see terminally ill mum as she shields

Katie Price is struggling without her mum amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The former glamour model, 42, has been unable to visit her mum Amy for months as she is shielding due to her terminal illness.

And revealing that it is all too much for mother-of-five Katie, she took to her Instagram page on Sunday evening to commend her mother's strength and praised the 64-year-old for her youthful looks.

Katie uploaded a snap of Amy smiling as she cut a casual figure in a baby pink sweatshirt teamed with matching jogging bottoms.

The glamorous gran left her natural curls down in the glowing photo captured in her kitchen.

Katie typed alongside the offering: "My mum looking so good today she sent me this photo and I have to say she is so beautiful inside and out and I love her so much, time is so precious I hate not being able to see her because of shielding."

She continued to gush: "I love you to the moon and back mum."

Amy has terminal lung condition idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and her condition means that her lungs have become scarred and breathing is difficult.

She was diagnosed in 2017 and said at the time it was told that she could have as little as two or three years left to live.

Amy has been considered especially vulnerable during the coronavirus crisis and she has been instructed to follow strict isolation.

In December, Katie revealed that she was upset that she was not going to be able to spend Christmas with her mum amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

She told The Sun: "I’m heartbroken. My mum has deteriorated a lot, she’s having to use oxygen and needs help breathing now, so it’s not good - but she’s still so determined.

"I thought it was going to be her last Christmas, I feared it, what I mean is it’s probably her last able Christmas where she’ll be able to be herself and have a laugh.

"We were never all going to be together as a family because of the rules, so our plan was to visit my sister Sophie on Christmas Eve and then go to my mum’s today for Christmas dinner."
