Katie Price says she wasn't allowed to be there for nephew's birth but is 'so proud'

Katie Price has said she wasn't allowed to be by her sister's side when she gave birth due to Covid-19 regulations but she is "so proud" and can't wait to meet her new nephew.

The telly star's sister Sophie gave birth to a baby boy and confirmed the happy news this week, revealing she's named the tot Albert and they're both now home from hospital.

Now Katie has broken her silence on her sister's happy news, revealing she wanted to be with Sophie when she welcomed her boy but she wasn't allowed.

The star, who's believed to be on holiday in Portugal, shared a picture of Albert's hospital tag on Instagram and sent her love to Sophie, her partner Harry and their new baby boy.

She wrote: "So proud of my sister @sophie_pricey and Harry unfortunately I wasn't able to be at the hospital because of covid but were with them all the way through!

"I love you sophie and Harry and my gorgeous nephew Albert... Welcome to the parent world and lack of sleep."

Katie is believed to be in Portugal this week after jetting off for her second holiday there just two weeks after they returned from their first trip out there.

Carl shared news of the trip on social media by giving his Instagram an update on the lines at passport control and later giving his followers a tour of the luxury villa where they're staying.

News of the birth of nephew comes as Katie plans to start IVF treatment with her fiancé Carl Woods after struggling to conceive her sixth child.

Katie is already mum to five kids from her relationships over the years, but she's keen to have a baby with her new man.

Speaking on Steph's Packed Lunch recently, she explained she wants to have another child so her mum Amy, who has a terminal lung condition, can have another grandchild.

She explained: "I'm doing this for my mum. She told me to have IVF so she can see us have kids. It will break my heart if she can’t.

"Last week we saw a doctor who reassured us we will have a baby.

"It is just how we do it now. Carl is getting tested because he’s never got anyone pregnant before. We don’t know yet but he might need medication to help his sperm.

"There’s obviously a reason why we’re not getting pregnant. Whatever happens, we’re having a baby this year.”

Katie is already mum to Harvey, 18, Junior, 15, Princess, 13, Jett, seven, and six-year-old Bunny.
