Katie Price says she'd be slated if she left new baby like I'm A Celeb's Danny Miller

Katie Price said she would have been ‘slated’ if she left a newborn baby at home to appear on ITV ’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The model and author took to Instagram to give her review of Monday night's episode of the hit ITV show, and decided to show her support for Emmerdale star Danny Miller, who was competing in the first eating Bushtucker Trial of the series.

The actor, 30, became a dad for the first time just four weeks ago, when fiancée Steph gave birth to their baby boy Albert, and he arrived in the Welsh castle during Sunday night’s launch show.

Discussing Danny taking part in the show, the mum-of-five said: “The guy with the newborn, I think it’s brilliant he’s come on the show.

“Bearing in mind if I had just had a baby I am sure I would be slated,” Katie added.

Filmed before she watched the eating challenge, Katie said she was “dreading it” for the poor contestants, Danny and Snoochie, who had to compete during Monday night’s show.

“I know how hard the eating challenge is,” the 43-year-old added, noting that this series was turning out to be brutal as it featured a grim Bushtucker Trial so soon into the show.

Katie has previously criticised the famous contestants in the jungle when they cry over missing their families, and insisted they had nothing to be upset over as it was “just three weeks”.

In her new memoir Harvey and Me, the businesswoman reflected on her time in the Australian jungle back in 2004, when she appeared alongside future husband Peter Andre.

Katie confessed she had turned down an offer to be in I’m A Celebrity in 2003 because she felt her son Harvey, then one-year-old, was “too young”.

Even though she headed to the jungle one year later when her eldest child was two, she still felt “hesitant” to leave him in the UK, but didn’t weep over him when she was on the show.

“Don’t get me wrong, I missed Harvey loads when I was there. But I don’t understand these people who have children and do these types of shows and just spend every day crying over them. You know you’re only going to be there a maximum of three weeks,” she fumed.

“Why do they f***ing cry? It winds me up,” Katie fired.

Danny’s fiancée Steph appeared on Lorraine on Monday in an effort to defend his decision to the hit ITV show, and said she had to persuade him to agree because he was so reluctant to leave his new family.

“It was a really difficult decision being so close to the birth, but when we sat down and discussed it as a family, it's a big opportunity and he's always wanted to do it. It's his favourite show to watch,” she explained.
