Katie Price says mum Amy struggles to breathe as she battles terminal lung condition

Katie Price has told that her mum Amy's terminal condition has left her struggling to breathe - as her lung capacity fell to just 32per cent.

Brave Amy suffers from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a diagnosis she received four years ago, with heartbroken Katie telling that she's always lived a healthy lifestyle.

And since Amy is classed as vulnerable, the pandemic has kept her from seeing Katie or her grandchildren since October.

Appearing on BBC Northern Ireland's Nolan Live, Katie explained: "My mum doesn’t smoke, she's always been so healthy and she's got this incurable lung disease and there's nothing you can do.

"So the British Lung Foundation, she got us in touch with them to talk to other people and they just said 'Build memories, take lots of pictures' and that's all you can do really.

"What else can you do? You know it's coming."

Katie continued: "She's only got like 32per cent left of her lung capacity, we have got 100per cent, she's got 32.

"So if you imagine now being that out of breath, it must be awful, and it's an awful way to go. It's horrible to see my mum go through it because she's so active, it's cruel."

Katie appeared with her mum on Good Morning Britain earlier this week, Amy telling Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid that she's in her "last couple of years."

"What with Covid and everything, if I catch a cold or Covid there's just no hope, so that would be the end of it for me," she said.

But Amy's hopeful she's make it on to the transplant list for a new lung.

Amy explained her prognosis on GMB (ITV)

"But positively, I'm hoping, I'm pushing to see if I can get on the transplant list," she said, "because there is no cure and there's nothing else they can do for me really.

"With the transplant my age is against me, because the results are not that good as you get older."

Meanwhile, Katie has signed up for a follow-up to Katie Price: Harvey & Me after the BBC documentary proved a hit with viewers.
