Katie Price says Harvey can't go out alone because he might get beaten up

Katie Price shared her fears teenage son Harvey's lack of social awareness could lead to him "getting punched", as she explained why he needs 24 hour care.

The mum-of-five said the 18-year-old did not understand social situations and couldn't even be allowed out for a walk without a carer.

She told New : "For him to walk the streets on his own wouldn't be realistic.

"What scares me is that if he walked past somebody and said, 'Hello you d***head', because he does that because he thinks it's funny, someone could take that the wrong way in the street.

"He could get punched and he would cower. That breaks my heart. He needs 24-hour care but he can still have an independent life.

"After college he's definitely coming home to me, without a doubt."

Last week Katie confirmed that Harvey was to move into a residential college which he will attend until he is 25.

Katie and her other children can visit regularly and Harvey will return home at weekends.

Harvey is on the autism spectrum and was born with the rare disorder septo-optic dysplasia. He has disabilities including partial blindness, ADHD and Prader-Willi syndrome, which causes an excessive appetite.

Katie said that she has struggled to manage her 6ft2in and 29-stone son and had worried that if he had a mood swing, he could be sectioned and his future taken out of their hands.

Discussing her decision to move Harvey into the residential college, Katie, 42, told Studio 10 in Australia: "It's not because I don't want to see him, but I have to give him a chance to have an independent life and not let him lead me all the time."
