Katie Price's son Harvey, 18, in intensive care after being rushed to hospital

Katie Price's son Harvey is gravely ill in hospital, a representative for the star has confirmed.

The 18-year-old suffers from a rare genetic condition called Prader-Willi syndrome, which has left him with complex health needs.

After his temperature reportedly shot up to 42 degrees, he was rushed into hospital. He is stable but, as of earlier this evening, remains in intensive care.

The TV personality and businesswoman confirmed the news on Instagram, posting: "I can confirm Harvey is in intensive care and in the best hands and would like to thank the ambulance services and the hospital staff for the quick response and making him stable."

A representative for Katie Price told The Sun Online : "His condition is very dangerous and Katie is terrified."

Katie noticed his rising temperature quickly and called an ambulance to take Harvey straight to a specialist paediatric hospital, The Sun reports.

"He has a temperature of 42 degrees and is struggling to breathe," her rep said.

"One of his conditions is adrenal failure that could cause his organs to fail and is very dangerous."

Ms Price has publicly spoken about her son, whose father is the former Premier League footballer Dwight Yorke, and the hardships the teenager has faced throughout his life.
