Katie Price shocked the world when she announced she had just tied the knot to her new partner.
The former model, 46, confirmed her surprise Dubai wedding last week, revealing she had married businessman Lee Andrews after a whirlwind one-week relationship.
The speed at which they took the step has reportedly surprised some of those close to her, with reports suggesting that members of Price’s family — including her children Junior and Princess — were unaware of the wedding until it was reported in the media.
But following days of headlines, Andrews’ mother, Trisha, has spoken out, telling the press she knew about the wedding, despite reports they had eloped.
She also said there have been “a lot of lies going around about Lee and that’s made me really upset”.
“He’s not been married twice. I just want to defend my son, but I can’t say much more until I know everything,” Trisha, who is a clairvoyant, told The Mirror.
“He did tell me that the wedding was happening. He spoke to me and if he is happy, I am happy – he’s my son, and that’s all that matters.”
Trisha also shared her opinion on her new daughter-in-law, saying: “Of course, I know who Katie is. I’ve always been very neutral about her. Everyone deserves a chance, you should never judge anyone in life.”
Joking about her own career as a clairvoyant, she added: “You can ask what it’s like to have a famous daughter-in-law, but she’s got a famous mother-in-law!”
Price has been engaged nine times and her latest wedding marks her fourth time down the aisle, with her previously being married to Peter Andre, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler.

The TV star has opened up about how she got matching tattoos with Andrew, before they even met.
“How I met Lee was esoteric; we connected [by] both checking each others’ socials and quickly realised: 'Wow, this is for me',” she told The Sun.
"In the old-fashioned way, first by words which captured us both. That evolved deeper as we connected further within days [getting] matching tattoos, and then both deciding to buy rings for the other. All this without even meeting, we let fate, but you could say destiny, decide."
Yesterday, reports emerged that her husband proposed to another woman just months earlier — in strikingly similar fashion.
According to the Sun, he staged an almost identical proposal in September to fitness influencer Alana Percival, whom he met earlier this year on a beach in Dubai. The outlet obtained a photo of the moment.
