Katie Price's ex and model Jay Munro are tipped to join winter Love Island 2020

A male model and Katie Price’s ex are tipped to be taking part in Love Island’s winter spin-off this year.

The programme, which is said to be airing in early 2020, will see a cast of Instagram stars and models share a villa in South Africa with a view to couple up and win a cash prize.

While ITV2 bosses have yet to confirm who is taking part, two men are rumoured to be heading into the house.

Builder Charles Drury, who apparently dated Katie Price earlier this summer, and footballer-turned-model Jay Munro are believed to be taking part this year.

According to the Sun Online, Drury, who was pictured with Price in Turkey in August, has been asked by producers to audition for the show.

One source told the website: “He was approached last year but was seeing someone at the time – but now he’s single, producers called him up and asked him to re-audition for the show.

"Nothing’s signed yet and he’s not even sure if he wants to do it but they’re keen to meet him. Katie will be furious when she finds out – he’d have girls falling over him, and he’s bound to talk about what dating Katie was like if he makes it into the villa.”

Meanwhile Munro, who is also a social influencer, won fame on the Voice in Australia after pushing the door open for contestants.

He was dubbed the “hot door pusher” by viewers and garnered a huge fan base down under.

A source has told the Daily Star: “Jay will be the one all the girls will be chasing. Just Tommy Fury, he’s a sportsman, in good shape and has dreamy looks.”

Speaking about his rise to fame, he told the Daily Record: “I can’t believe the reaction there has been. It’s so funny.

“As soon as I appeared on camera, a lot of people starting tweeting, ‘Who’s the boy who pushes the door?’

“I’ve had so many tweets, messages and comments on my Instagram about being the ‘hot door pusher’.

“I think I’ve had more comments than the show’s contestants.”

Standard Online has contacted ITV2 for further comment.

This year’s Love Island saw Greg O’shea and Amber Gill being crowned the winners of the programme.

The rugby star, 24, and former beautician, 22, scooped the £50,000 prize but have since split up just weeks later.
