Katie Price renovates Mucky Mansion in new documentary to make a 'happy home' for her five kids

Katie Price is to renovate her Mucky Mansion for a new Channel 4 documentary.

The 43-year-old will front two separate shows for the broadcaster - one of which will be called Katie Price's Mucky Mansion whilst she is also set to explore her own mental health in Katie Price: Trauma & Me.

Katie has owned her home for a number of years, but it has been named the 'mucky mansion' after it fell into disrepair over the years.

Speaking about her new project, she said: "My house has been called the Mucky Mansion in the past, but it’s not that anymore, I’m making it a home. I’m getting my hands dirty and doing a lot of the work myself and, with the help of my amazing family and some brilliant friends, I’m putting the past behind me and rebuilding.

"My house is a bit like my life, it’s being put back together like I’m being put back together."

Katie's new documentary will follow her and her family as they try to renovate the property, which sprawls across a huge 10 acres. The three episodes will show Katie as she tries to put her bad memories and the traumatic events that have taken place there in a bid to create a "happy home and sanctuary" for herself and her family.

She will take an active role in the whole renovation - including the replacing of the chimney pots, as well as designing the perfect bedrooms for her five kids and a great kitchen for the whole family.

She will also discuss her mental healing as she works on the new project.

Clemency Green, commissioning editor for Channel 4, commented: "I’m thrilled to have commissioned Captive Minds Media’s first projects for Channel 4. In Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion, we see a different side to Katie and learn more about her battle with mental health, as well as seeing her close bond with her family. It’s compelling viewing."

Liz Mills, head of content at Captive Minds Media, added: "It’s really exciting for our embryonic company to have kicked off with this fabulous series for C4. I’m sure the audience will be surprised by ‘crafty’ Katie and her unique blend of family, fun and interior design with a real insight into her mental health struggles."

Katie will also explore her own mental health in a second one-off documentary called Katie Price: Trauma & Me.
