Katie Price quits 'horrible' social media after Caroline Flack's death

Katie Price has quit social media following the death of her friend Caroline Flack.

The former glamour model, 41, took to her Instagram Story on Monday night to say she was "taking a break" from the "horrible" world of social media after the tragic news.

Former Love Island host Caroline was found dead at the age of 40 at her east London home on Saturday morning after taking her own life.

Katie and Caroline had been close and after she died the mum-of-five said they had been messaging not long ago to talk about meeting up after she'd offered her support.

Writing last night, Katie said: "I've decided to take a break from this horrible media world.

"I'm absolutely heart broken... I'm having a dramatic change in my life for the better.

"I don't want to have to read or see anything in the press about me, my family & friends or my exes.

"This has all got to stop!"

Katie finished the post by saying her social media silence wouldn't be forever.

"I'll be back when I'm ready," she added.

Love Island paid a beautiful tribute to former host Caroline tonight, put together by the ITV2 show's crew in South Africa and tearful narrator Iain Stirling.

He said: "We are all absolutely devastated by the news that Caroline has passed away."

Iain's voice cracked towards the end of his tribute as he said: "You were a true friend to me.

"I'm going to miss you, Caz."
