Katie Price is considering making a televised appeal for information about her husband Lee Andrews, sources close to the former model revealed.
The mystery has deepened over the whereabouts of businessman Andrews, 42, after his phone was reportedly activated on Sunday morning, more than a week after he disappeared.
The husband of ex-glamour model Price disappeared 13 days ago and since then mystery has surrounded his whereabouts.
The former glamour model had previously shared fears he’d been kidnapped at the Dubai border while he was trying to get to the UK for their joint GMB interview.
In light of his disappearance, the TV personality is said to be considering a TV appeal for information on her missing other half, despite previous reports that she was “giving up the search” for him.
A source said: “On Friday she was asked if she would appear on television and officially appeal for information on her missing husband. It all feels very surreal and like the thing you’d see on an ITV primetime drama.
“Of course, she doesn’t want to go on telly pleading for new intel if he really is on the run — and ghosting her. But she will do all she can to help, even if that means launching an international manhunt.”
Price, 48, who married Andrews in January following a ten-day whirlwind romance, is said to want to travel to the UAE to assist the search in person, though reportedly fears she could be “detained”.
"Even for Kate, this has been the weirdest two weeks of her life," a source told The Sun. "She simply cannot get her head around what is going on."
The Standard has contacted Katie Price’s rep for comment.
On Saturday, Price dismissed claims made by Andrews’ father that her husband was being held in a Dubai prison, branding the reports “fake news”.
The businessman told the Daily Mail: “Lee is OK. He has not been kidnapped but he is under arrest. I don't know on what charge.”
However, Price hit back at the claims, as she called them “fake” and wrote on her Instagram story: “Lee is still missing. Me and his family know what’s going on and working with the authorities involved.”
Meanwhile, a source told The Sun on Sunday that their messages to Andrews were being seen, which indicates that his phone is active.
“Lee has multiple phones but this is the one that is being used now,” they told the newspaper.
At the beginning of the ordeal, Andrews sent Price a video of him hooded with his hands seemingly tied after being “bundled into a van” and allegedly taken to a “black site”.
At the time he was said to have been trying to make his way back to London to be with her, having sent her a string of messages and voice calls suggesting he had been kidnapped.
In light of his disappearance, Andrews failed to acknowledge her 48th birthday, but reportedly did follow
Andrews has faced accusations he is a conman and Price's family have shared their fears about her whirlwind relationship with him in the past.
He has been branded a “liar and a narcissist” by two of his exes.
He has strenuously denied the conman claims along with allegations that he is unable to leave the UAE due to a travel ban.
Andrews was reportedly banned from leaving Dubai after allegedly spending three weeks in a UAE jail over claims he forged an ex-girlfriend’s signature to secure a £200,000 loan, according to the Mail.
It was also alleged that he applied for a mortgage in his ex’s name without her consent. Andrews has denied the claims.
The British Foreign Office has been alerted but consular staff in Dubai have reportedly been unable to find any trace of him.
The Dubai authorities were also said to have previously denied any knowledge of his whereabouts.
