Katie Price pleads guilty to road crash charge and blames mental health in year from hell

Katie Price has pleaded guilty to a road crash charge and blamed her mental health struggles during her year from hell.

The former glamour girl, 41, is facing another driving ban after admitting a charge of failing to disclose who was behind the wheel of her car at the time of an accident in October.

During a hearing at Bromley Magistrates Court today, a statement from Katie was read out in which she said she was finally getting her life together.

The statement, which was read in her absence by District Judge Robert Hunter, explained: “Back in October my mental health was seriously affected.

“I sought help from a rehab centre for PTSD.

"During this time I wasn’t in control of my work, property or mail or in general.

“I am now in a clearer mindset and tackling my issues and getting back on my feet.

“I wasn’t driving at the time. I plead guilty.”

She had initially pleaded not guilty to a charge of refusing to name who was driving her car during a crash.

However, today she changed her plea to guilty. Katie now faces another driving ban as she currently has six points on her licence.

According to The Sun , the charge is believed to stem from an incident in Bexley, Kent, reported on 8 October in which Katie's pink Range Rover was involved in a collision and then failed to stop.

District Judge Hunter adjourned the case to August, saying: “She has got to be sent a mail she is now liable for disqualification if she wants to make any representations.

“We can’t take this further today.”

It's the latest motoring offence for the beleaguered glamour girl.

In January she landed a three-month driving ban and a £1,100 fine after pleading guilty to driving while disqualified and not having insurance.

A month later, she was convicted of being drunk in charge of her car following a crash on 10 October, 2018.

She was found slumped in the backseat of her car, but denied she had been driving.

The star was found not guilty of a separate charge of drink driving.
