Katie Price pleads guilty for breaching restraining order and 'faces jail'

Katie Price has pleaded guilty at Lewes Crown Court to breaching a restraining order against her ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s fiancee Michelle Penticost.

The 44-year-old former glamour model arrived at Lewes Crown Court with fiance Carl Woods to enter the formal plea.

Judge Stephen Mooney, who addressed Katie and her counsel following the plea, warned her that she is "at risk of going to prison" after admitting to breaching a restraining order.

Speaking in court, he told her: "Clearly you have accepted responsibility for an offence.

“You have pleaded guilty and you are aware that you committed that offence while you were subject to a suspended sentence and you are at risk of going to prison.

“Your lawyer says there is a lot of information relating to the background of this offence and the offence which led to you receiving the suspended sentence.

“I will need to know about the relevant parts of the background.

“Be under no illusions, I am adjourning for a pre-sentence report but you do run the risk of receiving a custodial sentence.”

Today, prosecutor David Dainty made no representations to the hearing which lasted around 15 minutes.

Katie's lawyer Nicholas Hamblin said the star should avoid jail again because only the words “tell your” were a breach of the restraining order.

He said: “Were it not for those two words in the message this would not be a breach.

“It is very telling in this case that there is a great deal of background information which will need to be placed before the court.

“Much of it is in a therapist’s report and the court would need to be updated about her current situation and indeed the matters which have taken up so much of her time and other people’s time over quite a number of years.

“You will notice she has been subject to conditions of a suspended sentence.

“Part of my function will be to seek to persuade the court that in this case, because of the mitigation available it will be unjust to activate that suspended sentence.”

She is due to return to court on June 24 for sentencing.

Bath bomb creator Katie previously pleaded not guilty to a single charge of breaching a restraining order on April 27 and requested a crown court trial.

In January, Katie allegedly texted Kieran, 34, calling Michelle a “c***ing w***e piece of s***” and a “gutter s**g”.

The reality star was later arrested by police on January 21 and spent 12 hours in a cell.

The ex-model and businesswoman has two children with ex Kieran, who she was married to from 2013 until 2021.

They met after being introduced by pals and then struck up conversations on Blackberry Messenger in November 2012.

Two months later they married in the Bahamas on January 16, 2013, after Kieran proposed. It was Katie's third marriage, after cage fighter Alex Reid and singer Peter Andre.

However, their marriage was dogged with tabloid reports, and admissions, of Kieran cheating with Katie's best friend and then her nanny.

Kieran has since become engaged to mum Michelle, who he met at the school gates. They went on to have a child together, Apollo.

Katie is now engaged to Carl and the pair have spoke openly about wanting a child together.

The couple reportedly split earlier this year, though neither confirmed or denied rumours and were later seen together during the Easter break.
