Katie Price is 'more resilient than a spider in a plughole' says body language expert

Katie Price and her rarely-seen sister Sophie made their debut joint on-screen appearance on Good Morning Britain on Monday morning to discuss their new business plans.

The 43-year-old former glamour model and her 31-year-old younger sister wowed show host Susanna Reid as they opened up about their plans to launch a baby clothes line together, and gave an update on the health of their terminally ill mother, Amy.

Katie’s appearance on live TV comes just weeks after she was reportedly assaulted at her own home, leaving the star battered and bruised.

Here, body language expert Judi James uncovers what Katie’s true feelings and thoughts were beneath her well manicured hands and strategically positioned hair during her Monday morning TV appearance…

More resilient than a spider in a plug-hole, Katie looks to be in full bounce-back mode here, following her recent dramas.

With her sister at her side she looks reasonably comfortable to be sharing some sibling banter, although some of her body language rituals hint that there might be a touch of bravado going on here and that beneath the surface she is not feeling quite as relaxed as she is trying to look.

Apart from some rather self-conscious gesticulation, Katie keeps her hands folded across her lap and below desk level, which could suggest a desire to self-protect.

She is normally more spatial and when her hands are visible they are mainly used for self-preen, self-checking or self-comfort gestures, like tugging at her sleeves or pulling or smoothing her hair.

Her hair is worn like curtains to cover her torso and the way she smooths it back into place suggests a desire to hide.

When her sister speaks Katie performs a very small sigh, as though pleased to have got her bit over.

Her eyes narrow as she watches her sister, but the rather self-conscious self-checking gestures continue as she runs her tongue across her upper teeth.
