Katie Price's brand new documentary discussing her mental health and past traumas has allowed her to heal and move past the incidents.
The former glamour model has faced many obstacles in the last few years, as her mental wellbeing has been affected following her struggles. In her new Channel 4 documentary, Katie, 44, bares her soul and speaks candidly about her PTSD diagnosis and what led up to her reaching breaking point at the time of her drink driving crash.
The documentary, Katie Price: Trauma and Me, speaks only about how her life spiralled out of control after being caught up in a terrifying car-jacking during a trip to South Africa in 2018 as she filmed for a reality TV show. Katie is now taking the steps needed to prevent a return to the dark days, and believes that her past trauma has been healed by going back and revisiting where everything went wrong for her, writes the Mirror.
The mother of five has now reportedly told her pals that she's entirely ready to put the years of turmoil behind her as she sets her sights on a brighter future with fiancé, Carl Woods, and her five children.
The eye-opening documentary on Channel 4 saw Katie open up about the darkness inside her which led her to getting behind the wheel of her car while intoxicated and under the influence - before crashing her vehicle.
Thankfully, Katie was unharmed in the accident, and no other drivers on the road were hurt, but the TV star admitted that she was wracked with guilt about the possibility of taking someone else's life while driving under the influence.
"I got in my car, had a collision. I regret it. I have upset people around me, and I have upset myself," she told. "I could have been hurt or I could have been dead. I could have killed someone, or I could have injured someone."
Following the series of traumatic events, a source close to Katie has told NEW! Magazine that by revisiting her night of 'darkness', she was able to work through some of the trauma thanks to the documentary.
"Katie's documentary has been such an emotional rollercoaster for her. Reliving some of the most traumatic experiences of her life has been difficult but rewarding," the insider told.
"Opening up about her struggles and trauma has given Katie the opportunity to finally come to terms with her wrongdoing and learn to forgive herself. She feels relieved. She feels as though a huge weight has been lifted off her shoulders. Speaking of the regrets of her past has allowed Katie to heal."
