Katie Price begs court to slash two-year driving ban after failing to tell police who crashed car

Katie Price is appealing against a two-year driving ban after failing to inform police who was behind the wheel of her Range Rover when it crashed last year.

The former glamour model, 41, was slapped with her fourth driving ban in the space of two years last month.

But that hasn't deterred Katie from fighting her corner; the mother-of-five is seeking a reduction on the length of time she needs to serve on the ban.

The TV sensation made her intentions known at Woolwich Crown Court as she set out her case.

Katie was hit with the ban in October over the crash, which unfolded in Bexley, in October 2018.

Her lawyers attempted to delay the hearing at the time.

They made claims the TV personality was unable to be present for the hearing because she had just jetted back into the UK.

However, District Judge Robert Hunter overruled their wishes and enforced the two-year ban on the absent reality star.

The prosecutor pointed to Price's previous disqualifications.

These included a three-month ban in July 2018 and a further three-month back in October 2018. Six points were added to Price's licence in January 2019.

The judge said: "I am imposing another six points, which amounts to a disqualification of two years to the licence.

"I am also imposing a fine of £440, a surcharge of £44 and prosecution costs of £100 to be paid in 28 days."
