Katie Price hugs son Harvey after he moves into his own home ahead of college

Katie Price gave her son Harvey a warm hug as the two took a walk together in the winter sunshine.

Reaching up to the teen, the onetime glamour model turned businesswoman embraced her oldest child as they walked and talked near her Essex home on Friday.

For the outing Katie wore her hair in a dramatic new brunette bob, and was clad in a knitted cream jumper dress and matching leggings.

Smiling as they talked, Harvey wore a T-shirt, jacket and red trousers, after his mum recently revealed plans to launch a clothing range inspired by Harvey, aimed at plus-size men.

The two were seen as it emerged Harvey, who has Prader-Willi syndrome, autism and is partially blind, is now living in a small three-bedroom property opposite Katie's rented home, with her help and the assistance of a carer.

The Times Magazine revealed in an interview with Katie this weekend that the move was taken to "ease lockdown cabin fever" when Harvey was unable to attend his usual residential school.

It is also hoped that having his own home will help Harvey transition to a new residential college later this year, when he ages out of his previous school.

The process of selecting a college is covered in a new BBC documentary filmed to mark Harvey's 18th birthday, focusing on the disabled teen's transition to adulthood.

In the documentary which airs tonight, Katie explains how she first let Harvey board at his school because of the daily distress he felt commuting there.

The 42-year-old says: "I hated him going to residential. I cried. But I saw he was happy there."

The documentary shows Katie touring colleges to select the best one for her son with former footballer Dwight Yorke, who she has raised alone.

The one they finally chose costs around £300,000 to £350,000 a year, and Katie expects to find out in March if Harvey's application was successful.

The mum-of-five has often shared her concerns for Harvey, who is currently shielding due to his complex medical needs.

She told The Times Magazine: "I wish he would die before me, Not because I want him to die, but you talk to any mother about who will look after their disabled child when they are gone.

"He wouldn't understand why I wasn't there and it would break his heart,

"No one would cuddle him like me. No one would kiss him. The thought of him dying of a little broken heart would be awful."
