Nightlife in Ayr has been in the doldrums of late.
But now it’s firmly back and - like her or loathe her - the glamour model formerly known as Jordan is in town next weekend.
The headline grabber Katie Price is the star attraction at Vinyl nighclub in Arthur Street.
The club’s assistant manager Lyndsey Pollock said: “We are delighted we have managed to lure Katie Price here.
“Some people have been rather stunned and we hope to fill our 600 capacity with people eager to meet her.
“There will be the chance to have photos taken and we are sure she will take to our decks.”
She added: “We are putting these things on to help Ayr get its night-life back and it seems to be working.
“With the Buf opening and ASK in Arthur Street, it has become the centre of things again.
“People are sticking their neck out to revive Ayr and put events on. Now we need people to support it.”
Katie is coming on Saturday May 25 - part of the Bank Holiday weekend.

The club is hopeful of getting a licence extension to 3.30am for the night.
Lyndsey added: “Our Saturday evenings appeal to a wide age group as resident DJ Derren Young plays the best party anthems from throughout the decades. “There’s definitely something for everyone, but the dancefloor is always the place to be.
“Katie is without doubt one of the most well-known celebrities in the UK and we are very much looking forward to welcoming her to Vinyl and to Ayr.
“We would recommend booking for this one.”
