Katie Price gushes over terminally ill mum Amy in heartwarming post about her 'rock'

During her hardest weeks, Katie Price is feeling grateful to have her mum Amy around.

The former glamour model, 42, gushed over her stunning mum in a heartwarming post on Instagram, admitting that she's her "total rock" in a sweet caption.

Katie's mum Amy was diagnosed with a terminal lung condition called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017.

The condition causes scarring to the lungs, making it harder to breathe.

She has been considered especially vulnerable during the coronavirus crisis and she has been instructed to follow strict isolation.

And although her situation isn't an ideal one, Katie is nevertheless so happy to have Amy around through some of her hardest weeks yet - complete with broken feet, Harvey's hospital dash, and her puppy's death.

Sharing a stunning snap of her mum with her 2.3 million followers, Katie penned: "How gorgeous does my mum look here in a picture taken today! Love my mum so much, she is my actual total rock!"

Amy looked incredible as she chilled on a sun lounger in her garden.

She grinned from ear-to-ear as she oozed elegance whilst posing for the sweet snap.

Upon her diagnosis in 2017, Amy told  Loose Women  that her prognosis was that she would likely only live for another two or three years.

Katie told new! magazine back in June how hard it has been for Amy during the lockdown.

The cold English weather made breathing even harder for Amy, so she now lives full-time in Spain.

She said of her mum: "She's struggling. She's slowed down so much with her breathing and it's not nice to see."

She added: "It's really sad, but it's life and we've just got to enjoy what's left. But it's hard at the moment because I can only see her through the window."

Amy is hoping to be put on a trial for a new research drug, but doesn't hold out much hope for a donated lung, because "you need to be nearly dead to get a transplant".
