Katie Price emotionally reunites with her terminally ill mum after 10 weeks of lockdown

Reality TV star Katie Price has finally been reunited with her terminally ill mother, Amy.

The former glamour model, 42, has spent the last 10 weeks apart from her mum due to a need for observing social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Amy was diagnosed with the terminal illness idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017.

Emotional scenes in Katie's Quest Red series My Crazy Life showed Katie leave rehab and bid farewell to her mother on the opposite side of a window as she and Amy took precautions to protect her mother's health.

Now, according to The Sun, Katie and Amy will have reunited today in person.

A source told the paper: "Amy is still shielding and being very very careful.

"Katie will go around for an isolation cup to tea in the garden today, but obviously she can't hug her or go near her."

It will be a huge relief to Katie to be with Amy again, with the paper adding that it will be the "best belated birthday present for Katie."

The reunion comes as the UK government relaxed lockdown restrictions to enable those shielding to leave the home and meet one person from another household from June 1, albeit whilst social distancing and maintaining a two metre distance between them.

Upon her diagnosis in 2017, Amy told Loose Women that her prognosis was that she would likely only live for another two or three years.

Katie told new! magazine last week how hard it has been for Amy during the lockdown.

She said of her mum: "She's struggling. She's slowed down so much with her breathing and it's not nice to see.

"It's really sad, but it's life and we've just got to enjoy what's left. But it's hard at the moment because I can only see her through the window."

Here's hoping that the pair had a lovely time together and a good chat over a cup of tea!
