Katie Price begs trolls to leave her son Harvey alone as they hound him with 'shocking' abuse

Katie Price has made a public plea for trolls to leave her son Harvey alone as she opened up about the abuse he receives.

The former glamour model, 41, appeared on Channel 5 News on Monday night to talk about the announcement that the teenager is now an ambassador for autism charity, Anna Kennedy Online.

Harvey is autistic, partially blind and suffers from Prader-Willi Sydrome.

Speaking on the show, Katie said her son, 17, would be standing up for people who don't have the same public platform as him.

She explained: "It's just so shocking what do you do, what do you do? He's innocent, he wouldn't harm a fly.

"I think it's good that he's in public eye because there's so many people out there who are scared, they don't know how to cope or they don't go out because they think people might look at them.

"Why should Harvey be hidden away? Everyone loves him, he's got such a following. Just because of his disabilities why should be be treated any different?"

In another scene she asked Harvey if he knew what his new role as an ambassador meant.

She said: "You're an ambassador what does that mean?"

"Don't be horrible," Harvey told the camera.

Katie added: "That means you're going to help other people like Harvey and protect them from people being horrible."

Harvey has been targeted by online trolls over the years and will now represent Anna Kennedy Online.

The charity is famous for running huge events such as Autism's Got Talent and it's website now lists Harvey as part of its team.

It tells of Harvey's incredible keyboard skills and recalls his performance at The Mermaid Theatre in London, after he was inspired to audition for their talent contest
