Katie Price enlists fans to prank-call phone number she insists is harassing her

Katie Price has attempted to enlist her fans to prank-call a number she publicly posted to her Instagram Story - despite urging the government to do more to tackle online abuse.

The reality star and former glamour model insisted that she was getting repeated calls and FaceTime requests from an unknown person.

Seeking revenge on the prankster, the 42-year-old shared a screenshot of the number and told her fans to harass them the same way they've been harassing her.

She wrote: "This number keeps ringing my phone I don't know them and people laughing when I pick up and they keep face timing please everyone do the same to them x."

Katie also shared a picture of a man with her followers, writing: "This guy keeps ringing me hopefully he will stop now."

Meanwhile, Katie has made it her mission to make online trolling a criminal offence.

She's launched a petition to make it a legal requirement to provide a verified form of ID when opening a new social media account.

And if the account belongs to someone under the age of 18, she wants the account to be verified by the ID of a parent or guardian.

She hopes that this would prevent people from hiding behind anonymous accounts to troll others online, and make it possible to track those who commit offences.

She also shared an image of a man (Instagram)

At the time of writing, the petition has attracted 171,269 signatures.

Naming her #TrackATroll campaign Harvey's Law after her disabled son, who is regularly targeted in online abuse, Katie has said she won't give up in her campaign to make trolling a crime.

She wrote for The Independent : "My name is Katie Price. My son Harvey is disabled.

Katie is trying to make online trolling illegal (Katie Price/Instagram)

"He has an underactive thyroid, partial blindness and diabetes, as well as Prader-Willi Syndrome – and he is also the kind and gentle son of a person regularly in the public eye.

"I've seen Harvey mocked and belittled since he was a small boy, because of his disabilities, and because of his race."

Harvey once told him mum that people are "horrible" to him in a heartbreaking moment.

Katie says that trackable IP addresses would not require people's personal data, but would allow police to easily uncover the identity of people posting abusive things online.
