Katie Price and Carl Woods laugh off backlash as fans slam pair for fake Vegas wedding

Katie Price and Carl Woods are trying to laugh off the backlash from fans, as they’ve been heavily criticised for their fake wedding in Las Vegas.

The couple jetted off to Sin City last week amid rumours they were due to exchange vows, and the 43-year-old was even spotted shopping for wedding dresses after she and the former Love Island star obtained a marriage license.

Mum-of-five Katie also teased the location of their wedding as she shared a video of her and Carl at the Caesars Palace chapel, telling her 2.7 million followers something had been “done and dusted”.

However, they soon backtracked on their alleged wedding plans, and Carl issued a statement on social media to confirm their holiday to Vegas was simply to try and fool the media into thinking they were tying the knot.

Ex-Page 3 model Katie also shared a similar statement on her Instagram Stories, as she said their trip was filmed to document “how easy it would be to get married in vegas”.

She then accused the media of causing her to suffer from anxiety and negatively impact her mental health.

Since they arrived back in the UK, Katie and Carl have tried to laugh off the backlash they’ve received from fans and followers on social media, as thousands began to voice their frustration over the betrothed couple’s behaviour.

And as Carl shared a paparazzi picture of him and Katie on Instagram, it prompted a barrage of comments slamming him and his fiancee for their antics in Vegas.

“I'm sorry but they deliberately did what they did for newspaper inches and it worked. Crying about it now is just ridiculous,” one fumed.

“Both attention seekers who would be nothing without the press,” another added, as one follower confessed they’ve had it with the couple.

“I always hated the way they have both had so much hate as I always say be kind, but I think enough is enough now sorry,” they raged.

“No one is interested, and the fake marriage was a way of gaining as much attention as possible so how Katie can suggest that it’s damaging her mental health when she is causing it is beyond me,” one fan fired.

Many followers shared their concern for Katie after she returned from her trip abroad.

“I think you both need help, clearly you both played the wee game for media, what do you expect,” they commented.

“Both unfollowed after this. Ridiculous, the both of you. Time to think of kids instead of playing games for story's (sic).”

While one fed up fan simply wrote: “So over it.”
