Katie Piper praised by fans as she presents show after emergency operation

Fans praised Katie Piper's natural TV presenting skills as she headed up ITV's Katie Piper Breakfast Show on Sunday morning.

The presenter was still visibly recovering from eye surgery last month as she headed up the chat show. In August, the 38-year-old revealed to fans that a hospital dash resulted in her undergoing an emergency operation.

Katie's husband, Richard James Sutton, noticed a black spot in her eye which she said had become "extremely painful" before the operation. Piper recently shared the painful details with her fellow Loose Women panellists.

Viewes took to Twitter to praise her presenting style. Christopher Lee Power (@christopher_clp) Tweeted: “Well done Katie. What a beautiful Sunday morning show. Honestly Katie, you are a natural born presenter."

Viewer Sarah Hartley (@SarahHaha1809) Tweeted: "You're a natural, very skilled presenter Katie. You listen to what your guests are saying. Hope you love what you do."

The episode is the penultimate in the short series, prompting viewers to call for her stint to be extended. @AbiEnquiries said on Twitter: "Oh no why the last show ? The show must go on!"

Actor Samson Kayo was Sunday's guest and he revealed that he once applied to be a paramedic. Speaking on ITV’s Katie Piper ’s Breakfast Show, the comedy actor, producer and writer said he was faced with a choice: actor or emergency responder.

His new series, Bloods, which also stars Jane Horrocks, is on Sky Comedy from Thursday. The drama follows two paramedics and their relationship as they deal with a series of tragic and comic situations.

On Sunday’s show, TOWIE star Pete Wicks revealed he had been filming Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which screens tonight (September 4) on Channel 4. He said he loves to take on new challenges.

In a scene from the programme, Wicks was seen going unconscious after he hit the water. However, he said that the worst nightmare was not being able to take hair straighteners onto the show.

Wicks also squashed rumours that he had left TOWIE – and says he will be back on screen soon. He also said that one of his biggest fears in life was failure.

Meanwhile, Kayo spoke about a hilarious night at the BAFTAs. The actor said he lost one shoe and his bow tie after being nominated for best comedy performance.
