Katie Piper has revealed that she is in the hospital again and set to undergo planned surgery on her eyelid.
The inspirational 37-year-old television star, who suffered an acid attack in 2008, appeared positive as she shared an update with followers while sitting in a hospital bed.
Her latest social media post came months after Katie revealed that she had undergone over 400 operations since the horrific attack.
In Katie's most recent Instagram post, the model and activist shared an empowering message with followers before explaining her latest surgical procedure and thanking fans for their concern.
"Morning lovely people, I have a very optimistic affirmation for you today. 30th March, what happened in the past is done with . It is the actions that you take next that will shape the rest of your life," she told her 998,000 Instagram followers.
"I think that's a really exciting affirmation, knowing that there's so much more in front of you than there is behind you. I think sometimes the past is best left where it belongs."
She then added: "Thank-you for all the messages, I am fine. I'm having a planned operation to my eyelid. I'm having another skin graft to my right eye."
On her social media profile, Katie was also inundated with messages from followers who wished her well ahead of her latest surgery.
"Best of luck for tomorrow. We are all stronger than we think," wrote one follower.
Another added: "Stay strong, it will all go well."
"There are a lot of people thinking about you. Love and positivity," added a third.
Katie's latest operation follows on from years of procedures that the star has undergone following the acid attack in 2008.
At the time, Katie was left her with burns to her face and blindness in one eye following the acid attack arranged by an ex-partner.
Over 12 years since the attack, Katie has maintained that her “heart never sinks” when she was told that she would need even more operations.
Speaking to The Mirror in November, Katie explained: "You can look at it that way, or you can say, it's extraordinary to be alive, because women who are acid attacked in other countries actually die,” she says.
“They don't have the NHS, and they don't have the sophisticated medicine we have here. So I think, my heart would never sink, life is a gift that I'm still here.”
