Katie Miller, the wife of controversial home security advisor Stephen Miller, has claimed that a tweet from one of the Democratic Party’s social media accounts which told her husband to “shut up” is “violent political rhetoric.”
The official Democrats account on X hit out at Mr Miller, who is White House deputy chief of staff for policy, after he falsely claimed on X that Texan State Representative James Talarico was the Democratic Party’s first “transgender Senate candidate.”
Replying to Mr Miller, the Democrats’ account wrote, “Shut up you ugly f***.”
Later, on Fox News show The Ingraham Angle, Ms Miller claimed, “This is the same violent political rhetoric that is leading people to shooting up, whether it be the White House Correspondents’ Dinner or President Trump in Butler.”
“What remains to be seen is…this is an anonymous account,” she said, before claiming it is run by a “sad liberal woman.”
In a post on X, she named the account holder as Paulina Mangubat, whom she described as being 30-years-old, and “unmarried with no kids.”
Ms Miller also shared an image of Mangubat and claimed that “this is what a sad, unhappy, female Liberal looks like.”
Responding, Mangubat poked fun at Ms Miller’s post by sharing an image of herself in a wedding dress.
“Well, now seems like a good time to share that I’m getting married!” she wrote on X, adding that she had put a deposit down on a venue and had bought a dress.
Mangubat also shared her own thoughts about the exchange on her account, accompanying an excoriating post with a famous meme of a dog wearing a propeller hat.
“Team just ratioed stephen miller (sic), who is ugly, evil, cruel, and bald,” she wrote.
Mr Miller has doubled down on his claim despite the controversy. In another post on X, he claimed that Talarico was “transitioning.”
California Governor Gavin Newsom fired back by comparing Miller to an infamous Lord of the Rings character.
“You’re transitioning from Sméagol to Gollum,” Newsom wrote on X.
Talarico is the Democratic nominee in the 2026 U.S. Senate election in Texas, which takes place in November’s midterm elections.
The entire online debacle began after The Democrats official account shared a photo of Talarico, which they captioned, “Fired up. Ready to go. It’s time to take back Texas.”
The post was uploaded after the Republican primary, in which the Trump-backed Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton, defeated the incumbent, John Cornyn.
