Katie McGlynn waves goodbye to Coronation Street with star-studded farewell party

Katie McGlynn celebrated her last week of filming with a goodbye party thrown by her Coronation Street co-stars.

The 26-year-old actress has finished her final scenes as Sinead Tinker and is off to pastures new.

Katie marked the occasion with a night out at Manchester's Mahiki nightclub, joined by members of the Corrie cast and crew.

She posed at the start of the evening in a baby pink PVC mini-dress, which featured a plunging neckline and a high-rise hemline to show off her gym-honed figure.

Katie paired the knock-out frock with a pink fluffy handbag, delicate gold necklaces and a pair of see-through heels.

Her platinum blonde hair was styled into a straight long bob and she finished off her going-out-out look with smoky eye makeup and nude lips.

The actress was joined by the likes of Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully; Sally-Ann Matthews (Jenny Connor)and Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby), as well as Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby) and Daniel Brocklebank (Billy Mayhew).

Also spotted letting their hair down in the celebrity hotspot were Alexandra Mardell (Emma Brooker), Lisa George (Beth Tinker) and Nathan Graham (James Bailey).

Katie's last ever scenes as Sinead are set to air soon as the newlywed's cervical cancer quickly spreads throughout her body.

The star revealed to This Morning recently that she'd sobbed on set throughout her last episode.

"It's heartbreaking, but it's real life. When we were doing scenes that day, I thought that I can't imagine this happening to me," she said.

"Deep down [Sinead] knows [about her cancer], but she makes sure she enjoys her wedding, she's so brave."

Katie added: "I was talking to [Corrie bosses] Iain [MacLeod] and Kate [Oates] about this story. I told them that I think I might want to leave due to not having a big storyline, but when I was given this, I told her that I want her to die as life isn't a fairytale."

It comes after Katie hit back at claims she was embroiled in an explosive showdown with Love Island's Maura Higgins at Monday night's TV Choice Awards.

The Corrie star was spotted appearing to shout at Maura and jab her finger in her face as the Irish grid girl's boyfriend Curtis Pritchard attempted to calm things down.

But Katie insisted there was no altercation whatsoever, joking on her Instagram that she must remember not to be so animated when meeting new friends in future.
