Katie McGlynn wants Corrie return just months after exit despite Sinead's death

Katie McGlynn has teased a potential Coronation Street return just months after leaving.

Although a comeback would prove a headache for the writers as her character, Sinead Tinker, tragically died after losing her battle with cancer.

Katie had taken on a very different role after leaving the ITV soap as Tinkerbell in a Peter Pan pantomime - but her time on stage was cut short by a mystery virus.

The former Corrie actress confessed she was missing her co-stars and loves the idea of a return to the cobbles in the future.

Presenter Lorraine Kelly suggested there was no going back unless she returned as an "evil twin".

Speaking on Lorraine's show, Katie replied: "I was thinking that but I don’t think we’re there yet.

"I learnt so much on that show and have so many memories but the main thing I'll miss is the people. It's such a big family. I do everyone."

Katie admitted her main concern was getting the storyline right and making it feel real, so she was thrilled with the response from viewers.

Katie also discussed having to cut short her new pantomime role after being struck down with a mystery illness.

She said: "I was feeling bit under the weather but knowing me I powered through. We are doing sometimes three shows a day. I loved every second of it but was feeling hot and stumbly. Spaced out.

"In-between shows I feinted. It was a blur. It was a bit dramatic. There was an ambulance. I remember waking up in A&E in my Tinkerbell costume. I was out of it.

"The doctor put it down to exhaustion and being ill. I had this virus. I needed a couple of days bed rest.

"I felt off and went to my own doctor. He said you need bed rest. I asked to go on stage and do a cameo.

"I don’t like having a day for work. So this was really tough for me. I love everyone. loved the pantomime. it was such light relief. It's basically stand-up on stage. I was in my element. So I was gutted."

*Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 9am
